Office & claims

The clerk insisted that the technicians cannot claim individual daily mileage to site, if they already claimed outstation allowance, claiming that it is a punishable offense if got caught by audit department.

My stand -: I ignore him n keep on signing their claim form.

Now the clerk won't talk to me anymore.

I feel guilty. But, am I guilty?

Traffic jam and new year blues..

No more school holidays. No more getting out to work at 7am, or even 7.15.. It's traffic jam all over again.. 6.30am n u have to be ready..

There is Monday blues.. n there is New Year Blues.. Accustomed to relatively easy feeling during schooldays.. well, we only share the cuti with schools for a few days, but the feeling is everywhere. No traffic jam, less people at office.. I love Decembers.. but now, December is gone.. huhuhuu..

Taiping. 25-27/12/2009.

 Taman Suria afternoon 25/12
Lake Town morning 26/12
 Lake Town morning 26/12

Malaysia's wettest town. Our own version of Forks, if u are a Twillight fan. Stayed at BIL's house nearby the Laketown area, very near to the MRSM Taiping.
Spent some quality time there with inlaws n nieces. Got a taste of bakso at Taiping bus station. Very delicious indeed. No Doli this time.
All in all, very good outing for family though it was rather ad-hoc planned.

// next trip to be pre-planned. Doli n mee udang Kuala Sepetang to be on the itenary. Plus the zoo.

21 Disember 2009M / 3 Muharram 1431H

Football -
Albeit a little bit late, Congratulations Malaysia. Winning the SEA Games after 20 years drought. Not much confidence among the fans in fact a good number actually predicted a Vietnam triumph over a random radio survey (I listen to Sinar.fm), but they made it. Put aside other talks for the time being, just enjoy the good feelings, boys.

Health -
Not in a good health these recent days. It all started just after my return trip to Johor. Did not eat anything out of usual, so the resulting pain is quite confusing as where and why it occurs. However the pain is still bearable and I can still drive and works as usual albeit being a little uncomfortable. Based on past experience and symptoms, I hope it's the lighter of the 2 possibilities.
Also, made my stand on this new Hijrah (n also the Gregorian/Masehi) calendar, to reduce my BMI. For myself and those people around me. To be healthier and fitter so that I can contributes more. N of course for my long-term plan of going Hajj. Am not sure how long or how strong can I maintain the commitment, since Gluttony seems to be my major weakness as to date. Nevertheless I hope to strive.

Free Brake Service and Lost Parking Card

Yesterday 15/12, I sent my 4 years old Waja to workshop for brake servicing. Took it back late in the afternoon and guess what, the boss said that the service is FOC. No parts need replacement and all they did was just cleaning all the necessary parts. Labor charge is on the house. This is good man, at times like this. So back I was to the house smiling endlessly.

And suddenly this morning, in the midst of preparing to go to work, I cannot find my parking ticket. To cut the story short, the card was never found and I have to get a replacement for RM50.

Ok, lesson learnt, although a brake service might cost more than RM50..

Laos 1 Malaysia 3

Congratulation boys. Credit is when a credits is due. The scoreline was quite flattering since the truth is Malaysia struggled for most of the time after the 1-0 lead and only resorted to a few counter attacks but well maybe it's the coach tactic. The counters were quite dangerous tho, the ideas and vision were brilliant at times if only the finishing touch were better.

One of the main concern is that the players more often than not, chose to do it the hard way when it comes to passing the ball around. Instead of passing to a teammate who is free, they chose to dribble excessively, or try to pass to someone who is being tightly man-marked. Well, it may just be the tactic but believe me the tactics has succeeded in getting me screaming in front of the tv.

Another thing to look upon could be the fitness factor. During the period of 1-hour mark to the 2nd goal, players loked as if, as a Kelantanese would put it, 'Habis gas'. It is only after Badrol Bakhtiar's 2nd goal that the boys seemed to regain their fitness and suddenly sprang to some more action. Before that, they were constantly under pressure from the Laotians wave of attacks of which they eventually scored. Again, it may just be a tactic :).

Football is a team effort but last night I feel that some players need mentioning. Badrol Bakhtiar, of course for scoring a brace, but it was the tenacious Nor Shahrul who provides those runs, who kept the Laotian defense busy with his moments of brilliance and industrious effort. Ahmad Sharbinee also proved to be the better choice for the No 1 spot, bar the solitary goal he has proved his worth between the posts.

Lastly, a win in semi-final is only just as good as a win. Any win is good. However this is only semi-final and nobody can be a champion by winning a semi-final. It is the final that is more important. Vietnam is no pushover. They beat us 3-1 at group stage and soundly crushed Singapore 4-1 in the other semi-final match. They are the team to beat, we are no favorite this time. Having said that, I also believe we have more skill, more tricks up our sleeves than the Vietnamese, whereas they have better stamina and higher work rate. If we can improve on those areas then I believe we have a fair chance of ending the 20-years drought of a SEA games gold.
